MISSION STATEMENT:  The mission of the LakeVille Athletic Department’s Leadership Council is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by fostering a positive student image, expanding school and community public relations, sponsoring and participating in school and community service activities, improving communication, and promoting school spirit. More specifically, the council will strive to:

  • Organize and carry out public relations and community service activities involving LHS student-athletes, our school and our community.
  • Inform and encourage LHS and the community to become more aware of issues faced by the student-athletes and recognize their accomplishments.
  • Promote communication between LHS administration, coaches, and student-athletes.
  • Involve all athletic teams to build a sense of community and spirit within the athletic program.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be nominated by coach
  • Submit application in person
    • application includes: letter of recommendation and essay
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Model Citizen (cannot get into trouble)
  • Display quality leadership skills

2018 Captains’ Council

Alyssa Barden – Class of 2020

Alyssa was born in Flint Michigan on December 10, 2001. She has lived in Otisville her entire life and has attended LakeVille Community Schools since Kindergarten. She is currently a Junior and member of the graduating class of 2020.

Alyssa began playing softball and volleyball in the fifth grade where she was selected to play in the competitive travel circuits for both sports. Upon reaching high school she was named to the varsity softball and volleyball teams as a freshman and has been a leader in the volleyball program for three years.

Alyssa was recently inducted into the National Honor Society and was named captain of her varsity volleyball team.  She finds herself excelling in these leadership roles as she was often elected captain of her youth teams, a role she is very comfortable with.  

Henry Deschner – Class of 2019

Henry was born in Flint, MI on August 3rd, 2000. He lives in Columbiaville and has attended LakeVille Community Schools his entire life.  Henry is currently a Senior and member of the graduating class of 2019.

Henry is a multiple sport athlete, participating in both football and basketball.  In 2017 he was named to the All Genesee Area Conference football team as he was selected as a 1st team offensive lineman.  He hopes to earn that same honor during his senior year. He will also be a three time varsity letter winner for the basketball team.  

Henry excels in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA.  He is currently a member of the National Honor Society and the Mathematics club.  

Kaytlin Finn – Class of 2020

Kaytlin was born in Flint, Michigan in January of 2001. She attended numerous school districts between the grades of kindergarten and 5th grade, settling into LakeVille Community School during the 6th grade, where she has excelled.   She is currently a Junior and member of the graduating class of 2020.

Due to limitations in her shoulder Kaytlin was not able to participate in many sports until 7th grade school year.  This is when she found track & field and cross country and found that she really enjoyed running. As a sophomore, Kaytlin earned her first medal during cross country and followed that up with her first medal in Track at the SVSU Indoor Invitational (3200 run).

Her leadership skills were on full display as she was named captain of the track team as a sophomore and also her cross country team as a junior.  Kaytlin has GPA score above 3.50 and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.

Trevor Hardacre – Class of 2020

Trevor was born in Flint, Michigan on November 7th,2002. He attended Davison Schools until his freshman year when he moved to the LakeVille school district.  He is a currently a junior and member of the graduating class of 2020.

While at LakeVille, he has been a member of the baseball and basketball programs.  He is the shortstop on the baseball team and earned a varsity letter as a sophomore. He expects to earn a varsity letters in basketball and baseball his junior and senior seasons.  

Academically, Trevor currently holds a 3.8 GPA and is a member of the student council.  One of his post high school goals is to receive a degree from a four-year university.

Allison Macsuga – Class of 2019

Allison was born in Grand Blanc, MI on March 2, 2001. Allison lived in Davison and attended the Davison school district until her family moved to the LakeVille Community before her third grade school year. She is now a Senior and member of the graduating class of 2019.  

She started playing travel softball the same year she moved to LakeVille and has played with the same team through the 2019 season.  Allison is a three time varsity letter winner in the LakeVille softball program and expects to get her fourth varsity letter this season. During her sophomore season, she received honorable mention All-Conference recognition as a 1st baseman.  After transitioning to a new role as catcher in 2018, she received 1st team All-Conference recognition. She was also selected to the All-District and All-Region teams during the 2018 season.

Allison’s athletic accolades are impressive but it is in the classroom where she stands alone.  She currently has a 4.0 GPA, is the Secretary of the National Honors Society, and also a class representative in the student council organization. Allison is currently ranked first in her class and is working hard to hold that rank during her senior year. She will be attending Northwood University in the Fall of 2019 as a member of the Honors Program to receive a Master’s Degree in Business.

Brianna Macsuga – Class of 2021

Brianna was born in Grand Blanc, MI on December 7th, 2002. She grew up in Davison but moved to Otisville in 2009.  She has attended LakeVille Community Schools since the first grade and is currently a Sophomore and member of the graduating class of 2021.

Brianna is a three sport athlete, competing in competitive cheer, sideline cheer, and softball.  She has spent a majority of her playing days on the softball field with her older sisters and believes the experience of playing with the older girls has made her a better player.  She only recently decided to get into cheerleading and is really enjoying the new experiences.

Brianna excels in the classroom with a GPA over 3.8.  Being a three sport athlete, it takes a lot of time and dedication to keep her grades high and continue to develop as an athlete.   

Ava I. Mroz – Class of 2020

Ava was born in Flint, Michigan on October 13, 2002. She grew up in Lapeer and attended Lapeer Schools from kindergarten until 9th grade. In 2017, she transferred to the LakeVille school district. She is currently a Junior and a member of the graduating class of 2020.  

Through her elementary and middle school years at Lapeer, she was a member of both the dance and competitive cheer teams.  She is now a four sport athlete for LakeVille High School as she is a member of the sideline and competitive cheer teams, the volleyball team and will play soccer in the spring.  

Ava excels in the classroom with a GPA well above 3.6 and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.  

Samual Selesky – Class of 2021

Sam Selesky was born on February 4th, 2003. He has lived in the LakeVille community and attended LakeVille Schools his entire life.  He is currently a sophomore and a member of the graduating class of 2021.

He is a three sport athlete participating in soccer, basketball, and track.  Sam also participates on the Quiz Bowl and Robotics teams and is a member of the marching band.  

He does all of these activities while excelling in the classroom.  He currently holds a 3.861 GPA and near the top of his class.

Rachel Swantek – Class of 2021

Rachel Swantek was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan on November 28th, 2002. She has grown up in Columbiaville and attended LakeVille Community Schools her entire life.  She is currently a sophomore and a member of the graduating class of 2021.

She began her travel softball and volleyball career in the third grade.  Rachel was selected to play on national elite club volleyball teams since 7th grade.  She is currently a two time varsity letter winner on the volleyball teams, receiving honorable mention All-Conference as a freshman.  In 2018 she was selected to the All-Conference volleyball 2nd team.

Rachel excels in the classroom and as a leader in within the school as she was also selected to serve in the student council.  

Breonna West – Class of 2021

Breonna (Bre) was born in Lapeer, Michigan in May, 2003.  After moving stops in the communities of Burton, Swartz Creek, and Davison, she finally settled in the LakeVille school district to begin her education. She is currently a sophomore and member of the graduating class of 2021.  

Breonna is a three sport athlete, participating in soccer, football and powerlifting.  During her eighth grade year, she placed third in the state at the State Powerlifting Championship meet. As a freshman, she was a starter on the girls varsity soccer team and became a member of the varsity football team as a sophomore.  In her first football season, she kicked an extra point and played on the defensive line.

Academically, she has a GPA above 3.5, is in an honors class, and is in advanced math.

Nathan Young – Class of 2021

Nathan Young was born March 14th, 2003.  He has lived in Otter lake attended LakeVille Schools his entire life.  He is currently a sophomore in the high school and a member of the graduating class of 2021.  

Nathan is a multiple sport athlete as he was the quarterback on the JV football team and a member of the varsity wrestling team.  As a freshman, we was selected as an All-Conference wrestler and also a state qualifier.

He was selected as a captain of the football team and hopes to be selected as a captain on the wrestling team.  Nathan is excited about about his induction into the LakeVille Captains’ Council.
