Sam Selesky, junior, had 13 saves in the goal. Caleb Griswold, junior, scored twice. Kory Knickerbocker, senior, scored once and had an assist. Dillon McDowell dominated at center defense while Zane Lloyd, Lance Peterson, and Charlie Lee controlled the midfield.

During the first home game of the season, LakeVille had to overcome a negative mentality as Byron had beaten LakeVille 5-0 in an August tournament game. After mistakes in the first ten minutes of the game had Byron up 3-0, the Falcons rallied. Caleb Griswold scored off of an assist by Kory Knickerbocker, and then Knickerbocker scored one himself. I’m proud of the team for living the lesson “It’s not over till it’s over.” Our boys scored first in the second half bringing the score to 3-4. Byron was last year’s conference co-champs, and LakeVille was looking at a possible game ending tie until Byron drove in the ball with five minutes to go. “We kept the forward momentum going until the buzzer rang; I couldn’t be prouder as their coach.”
